Kent Independent Film is a dedicated team of passionate filmmakers based in Kent, UK. Since our formation in 2010, we’ve focused on creating bold, imaginative short and feature-length narrative films across a wide range of genres—all on modest budgets but with a strong emphasis on high production values.
We operate through several creative subsidiaries, including War Office Studios, Triad Productions, Evil Goat Productions, and The Showreel Gangsters. Each branch allows us to explore different styles and genres—from historical epics and war dramas to gritty thrillers, quirky comedies, and stylised indie horrors.
What sets us apart is our love for storytelling and our commitment to doing things the practical way. We have a particular passion for crafting a distinctive brand of 1980s-inspired horror, using traditional techniques and practical effects to capture the atmosphere, tension, and charm of a bygone era of filmmaking.
From gritty historical dramas to blood-soaked slashers, our projects are united by one goal: to deliver unforgettable stories made with heart, creativity, and resourcefulness. Whether working with new talent or long-time collaborators, we pride ourselves on creating a professional, welcoming environment where creativity can thrive.

Steve Davis
Managing Director
Steve launched Kent Independent Film back in 2010 after realising being in front of the camera as an extra was fun—but bossing people around behind it was even better. A lifelong lover of acting (he once did a gripping performance as ‘Tree #2’ in a school play), Steve’s true passion ignited on set, where he discovered a knack for writing scripts and shouting “Action!” with dramatic flair. His debut feature film, Christmas Slay, went full festive horror and sleighed its way onto Amazon Prime. When Steve’s not making movies, you’ll likely find him flexing in front of mirrors, practising his best “director face.” It’s a work in progress.
